Matches

Matches are held every Saturday. All members and their guest are welcome to participate or spectate. With plenty of events to choose from, you are sure to find something that piques your interest. Take a look at the information below and pick something you like, then come on out and test your skills!

Portions of the range are closed for general use during scheduled matches. The day prior to a match may be used for match setup. Members are not permitted to use the range during these times.

First Saturday of the Month

High Powered Rifle Match:

Join us for the High powered rifle competition held on the rifle range commencing at 8 a.m. This is primarily a long-range bench rest competition with small targets placed up to 500 yards away. The challenging targets change every month. Any rifle can compete. No AP rounds allowed.

Second Saturday of the Month

.22 Rim-Fire Match:

Twenty Two rim-fire shoot with rifles and pistols held at the Cowboy/Combat town at 9 a.m. Forty rounds pistol & 40 rounds rifle. Shoot both or one gun. Targets are small to medium swinging steel and usually placed within 50 yards. No gun or ammo restrictions. Eye protection mandatory. 

Third Saturday of the Month

Cowboy Action Match:

Cowboy action shoot commencing at 9 a.m. at the Cowboy/Combat town. Competing with guns of yesteryear, competitors must shoot their way out of bad situations. Cover and concealment are always part of the scenarios. Required weapons: Lever action rifle in a pistol caliber only and a single action revolver. Pistol rounds must be lead, plated or coated only and must not exceed 1100 FPS. Double barrel shotgun of any gauge. No buck shot, slugs, or shot larger than #7 1/2. Double barreled shotguns must have extractors rather than ejectors (an ejector tosses the empty hull completely out of the chamber). Slide action shotguns may be used, but only two rounds can be loaded. Shooters are encouraged to show up in Western drag. 

Third Saturday of the Month

Tactical Pistol Match:

The Tactical Pistol Match follows the Cowboy shoot. Match will generally begin at 11 a.m. Compete with modern semi-automatic pistols or pistol caliber carbines. Test your pistol skills in various scenarios. Competitors must shoot their way out of bad situations using cover and concealment. Pistol rounds must be lead, plated or coated only.

Fourth Saturday of the Month

Three Gun Match:

Three-Gun match commencing at 9 a.m. at the Cowboy/Combat range. The Three Gun is basically the same as the cowboy shoot except modern semi-automatic weapons are used at greater ranges. There’s no velocity limit on rifles, but the limit still applies to handguns. Pistol rounds must be lead, plated or coated only. Match will generally use 1 or 2 slugs. No buck shot or shot larger than #7 ½. 

Fifth Saturday of the Month

Service Rifle and Service Pistol Match:

Bring out the iron sights! Service rifle and service pistol match is held at the Cowboy/Combat town at 9 a.m. No AP rounds. Pistol rounds must be lead, plated or coated only. Steel targets are various sizes. Rifle targets are placed between 150 and 300 yards. Pistol targets are normally placed within 50 yards. Forty rounds pistol & 40 rounds rifle. Shoot both or one gun. No iron sights? No problem, bring out what you have and test your skills.
